Patty is a philanthropist who strongly believes in giving back to the community. In 2016, she and her husband financed the renovation of nanochemistry and nanotechnology lab in Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s (MIT) chemistry department.
As a sign of appreciation for the charitable gesture, MIT displayed their plaque on the newly renovated labs. Rocklage is also a volunteer at the Sudanese Education Fund, an organization that helps people who have relocated from South Sudan to Massachusetts find stable jobs and education as well as financial stability.
