Starting in 1909 as a family meat market OSI Group has grown to a worldwide leader in food services. Still privately owned they now provide food services to more than seventeen countries. OSI Group is headquartered in Aurora, Illinois and enjoys annual revenues more than $3 billion. Even though they are now one of the largest privately owned companies in America, they remain dedicated to their customers’ success.

Originally known as Otto & Sons the company supplied quality meat products to local restaurants and markets until 1955 when the companies fortunes changed dramatically. That year they were approached by the fledgling fast-food restaurant chain, McDonald’s, to be one of their meat suppliers.

OSI Group realizes that all customers are not the same, government regulations, cultural nuances and taste are considerations the local purveyor will better grasp. Recently OSI Group has acquired two new entities. They purchased the Tyson Foods  plant in Chicago and Baho Food. The Tyson meat processing plant was needed to support continued demand and business growth. The Baho Food acquisition enabled them to expand their selection of deli meats and snacks. OSI Group supplies a variety of products, including meat patties, hot dogs, sausage, bacon, and pizza dough to mention only a few. Besides McDonald’s, OSI supply other western style fast food chains, such as Starbucks and Burger King, in China and many other Asian countries.

Their extensive international network makes it possible for their customers to have greater financial flexibility and cost savings. Despite the fact, they are now a global operation with vast resources, and a host of competitive advantages OSI Group still operates like a small company.
