In just the four years he was in London, he managed to influence trade and business deals between the two countries. For the first time in the history of the partnership of the UK and Israel, trade doubled and the number of Jewish owned businesses reached an all-time high of 3000.
Daniel Taub was excited by the achievements which according to him would help Israel develop economically. Although everything seemed to be right with the partnership, there is one thing that affected the relationship.
While he was still in office, Daniel Taub had to deal with numerous issues of boycotts and bans which various organizations in the UK were coming up with against the Jewish country.
There was a declaration by the MP of Bradford that his area was Israeli free. No Jew would be allowed to visit the area and no goods from Israel would be allowed into the area. The declaration was meant to pressure Israel to promote peace in the region something that the Jewish community refused.
Any attempts to apply pressure on Israel as a way of pushing the country to embrace peace was never going to change anything. According to Daniel Taub, the only thing that could have worked is using conciliatory means that would bring all the warring parties in the region to the table and help them reach an agreement.
Daniel Taub protests such bans, and in the case of Bradford, he visited the area while the ban was still in effect to talk with the people of this area. Not everyone was supporting this move. In fact, a majority of the people living in the area declared that the ban by the MP was a personal decision that they would never follow.
Daniel Taub described MP from Bradford George Galloway as an anti-Israeli activist who was using his position in power to force declarations that would strain the relationship between the United Kingdom and Israel which Daniel Taub has spent many years cultivating.
